Le travail photographique de Karim Kal interroge les notions de flux migratoires, les identités territoriales
en référence à l’histoire ou aux problématiques sociales et urbaines contemporaines.
Il s’attache à représenter le bâtit, le territoire urbain en tant que territoire social : un espace public qui
devient un marqueur culturel, idéologique et politique d’une société.
S’il emprunte certains codes de l’image de presse, sa photographie se veut réflexive et développe sa
propre forme poétique.
The photographic work of Karim Kal interrogates notions of migratory flows, territorial identities in
reference to history or contemporary social and urban problems.
It works to enhance the built, the urban territory as a social territory: a public space that becomes a
cultural marker, ideological and political of a society.
If it borrows some code from the image of the press, the aim of his photographs is to be reflexive and
to develop its own poetic form.
