1.0.3 est un collectif constitué depuis 2002 de trois jeunes artistes: Anne Couzon Cesca,
Arnaud et François Bernus. Ils ont été diplômés en 2002 du DNSEP de l’École régionale des
beaux-arts de Valence, puis en 2003 du Postgrade de l’École supérieure des beaux-arts de
Genève.
Pour le Collectif 1.0.3, dont le nom évoque une version de logiciel informatique, l’ordinateur est
un sujet qui rend compte de trois notions : la conservation, la conversion et la conversation.
En 2003, ces artistes ont élaboré le projet MISMA (Module d’Intervention de Sauvegarde de
Méthodologies Artistiques), qui consiste à reporter puis à représenter le contenu d’ordinateurs.
Ils ont ainsi réalisé de 2003 à 2006, 58 empreintes informatiques d’individus ou d’institutions en
traduisant sous forme de «cartographies» (planiscope, arboflash, scrolling) toutes les données
enregistrées sur leur ordinateur.
MISMA est un centre de documentation qui propose à des artistes, des individus ou des
institutions de procéder à une sauvegarde de leur bureau informatique. Il s’agit de relever
l’image de leur disque dur à travers les noms des dossiers et des fichiers (éléments reflétant
une méthodologie de travail), réalisé grâce à un logiciel, téléchargeable gratuitement sur le web,
qui permet aux participants de réaliser un « catalogage » exhaustif de leur disque et de nous
l’envoyer par mail.
Cette mise à plat des données entre ensuite dans la fabrication d’un Planiscope qui en dessine
l’arborescence. Le résultat génère une image énigmatique sous la forme d’un « paysage » ou
d’une « nébuleuse » de mots. Il existe un deuxième mode de restitution des données, les
Arboflashs accessibles via l'écran, depuis le MIN (Module d'Intervention Nomade).

Qu’il s’agisse de présenter Roll’ywood (concept rotatif et collaboratif), MISMA , 100 titres
(compilation visuelle de l’état d’une bibliothèque sonore) ou des historiques paysagers de métro
(M-Paris, U-London), ce collectif concentre son regard sur les formes rigoureuses issues de
l’organisation humaine. Par la formule « Rotative et Collaborative », il a, dès ses débuts, exprimé
le souhait d’agrandir régulièrement le cercle de ses collaborateurs et introduit Jean-Paul Jainsky
(JPJ) en tant que satellite principal influençant le groupe. Cet homme de l’ombre recompose
sous ce nom d’emprunt d’étranges textes adressés par mail au collectif. 1.0.3 a créé un site
internet qui rend compte de cette pratique d’expédition de texte toujours attaché au corps d’un

1.0.3 is a collective formed in 2002 by the three young artists Anne Couzon Cesca, Arnaud and
François Bernus. They graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the Regional School of Fine
Arts of Valence in 2002, and in 2003 received their Master’s degrees from the School of Fine
Arts in Geneva.
To the Collective 1.0.3, whose name evokes a version of software, the computer realizes three
major concepts: conservation, conversion and conversation. This group is interested, through
its work of collection, by rigorous forms of human organization.
In 2003, the artists developed the project MISMA (Intervention Module for Artistic Methodology
Backups), which consists of gathering and representing the contents of computers. Between
2003 and 2006, they produced 48 prints of individual and institutional computers by translating
all the data contained in the computers into different types of maps ( planiscope, arboflash,
scrolling).
« MISMA is a documentation center which offers artists, individuals and institutions a process to
back up and save their desktop. Using a free application (available for download online)
participants can make their disk image with the names of their files (which reflects a work
methodology) allowin participants to produce a precise ‘catalogue’ of their hard drive which
they can then send to us by email. »
This laying out of data is then incorporated into the production of a Planiscope designed as a
tree structure. The result generates an enigmatic image in the form of a landscape or a word
nebula.
There is anothe rmethod of plotting data: Arboflashs, available on screen, via the MIN (Nomadic

Be it about presenting Roll’ywood (rotary and collaborative concept), MISMA, 100 titles (visual
compilation as a sound library) or historical landscapes of subways (Paris metro, London
Underground), this collective focuses on the rigorous shapes originating from human
organisation.Through the method ‘Rotary and Collaborative’, the collective has, since its
beginning, always wished to regularly broaden the sphere of collaborators and introduces Jean-
Paul Jainsky (JPJ) as the main satellite influencing the group. This man from the shadow
recomposes under a borrowed name, strange texts sent via email to the collective.
1.0.3 has recently created a website that realizes this practice of sending texts always attached
